The Speedmaster is one of the most actively traded chronograph families on the pre-owned market, but the references buyers actually pay for are not necessarily the ones on Omega's current price list. We pulled twelve months of WatchCharts transaction data for the 449 Speedmaster references in our August 2026 dataset and ranked them by one number: how many changed hands in the last year. Three of the top ten are discontinued. One trades above retail. The current flagship sits fourth.

How this ranking works

Every reference below is scored on WatchCharts market data collected in August 2026. The primary sort key is one-year sales volume — the count of completed sales tracked across the major secondary platforms. Market price is the median transaction price; retail is Omega's current list price where the model is still in production. Price trend is the twelve-month change in median price. We did not weight by our own catalogue, so several references we do not currently stock made the list; we say so where it applies.

Reference by reference

1. Speedmaster Reduced 3510.50 — 3,088 sales in one year

Omega introduced the Reduced in 1988 as the affordable Speedmaster and kept it in the catalogue until around 2010: 39 mm instead of 42, an automatic movement (an ETA base with a Dubois-Dépraz chronograph module — calibre 1140-series early on, 3220 in later years) instead of the hand-wound Moonwatch calibre, and a price well below the Professional. Collectors dismissed it for two decades. The market has since reversed that verdict completely. With 3,088 sales in twelve months it outsells every other Speedmaster by a wide margin, and at €2,616 it trades 86% above its final list price, rising 13.4% in the last year alone. Size is likely part of the appeal: at 39 mm the Reduced fits the broader shift toward more compact sports watches, and until Omega's August 2026 Speedmaster 38 refresh there was no current-production Speedmaster this small that looked like a Moonwatch — and even the new 38 is a separate, automatic line rather than a Moonwatch Professional. We do not currently stock this reference.

2. Moonwatch Professional 310.30.42.50.01.002 — 1,904 sales, 36% below list

The 2021 Moonwatch with the Co-Axial Master Chronometer calibre 3861, sapphire crystal front and back, and the sapphire-sandwich bracelet clasp. This is the reference most buyers mean when they say "the Moonwatch". It sold 1,904 units in the year at a median of €5,585 — a 36% discount to the €8,700 list, which is the widest gap between retail and reality of any current-production Omega in this list. The discount is not necessarily a quality signal. The gap has widened partly because Omega's retail prices have risen substantially since 2022 while secondary-market prices have remained comparatively restrained. Currently offered only in the hesalite version below.

3. Moonwatch Professional 3570.50 — the last of the 1861 hesalite era

Produced from 1997 to 2014, the 3570.50 is the calibre 1861 Moonwatch that most people who bought "a Speedmaster" in the 2000s actually own: hesalite crystal, solid caseback, the tritium-then-Luminova dial. It is now a discontinued reference trading 19% above its last retail price, with 1,519 sales and an 8.8% rise on the year. Buyers choose it over a new 3861 for two reasons: the price (€3,925 median, roughly €900 under a new hesalite 3861) and the fact that a 1861 can be serviced by almost any competent watchmaker. We do not currently stock this reference.

4. Moonwatch Professional 310.30.42.50.01.001 — hesalite 3861

Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch Professional 310.30.42.50.01.001

The purist's version of the current Moonwatch: same calibre 3861, but hesalite crystal and a closed caseback as worn on the lunar missions. It costs €1,100 less than the sapphire version at retail and about €760 less on the secondary market. At 1,380 sales it runs just behind its sapphire sibling, which tells you how evenly split the market is on the crystal question. Hesalite scratches more easily, but light surface marks usually polish out with Polywatch; sapphire is far more scratch-resistant, though a hard knock can still chip or crack it, and then it is replaced rather than polished. Available in our Speedmaster collection.

5. Moonwatch Professional 310.30.42.50.04.001 — the white dial

Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch Professional 310.30.42.50.04.001

Launched in 2024, the white-dial Moonwatch is the first Moonwatch with a white glossy lacquered step dial and the first white dial in the regular (non-limited) Moonwatch line-up — and the only reference in the top five whose price has not risen in the last year (−0.8%). Its median price slipped just 0.8% over the year, while 1,341 recorded sales still put it fifth overall, showing substantial secondary-market activity well beyond its launch period. Buyers who want the Moonwatch silhouette without the black dial that every other chronograph copies now have a regular-production option, and this is it. In stock.

6. Silver Snoopy Award 50th Anniversary 310.32.42.50.02.001 — the only current model above retail

Omega Speedmaster Silver Snoopy Award 50th Anniversary 310.32.42.50.02.001

The 2020 Snoopy is the single current-production Speedmaster whose secondary price exceeds retail: €12,819 against an €11,600 list. It is not a numbered limited edition, but Omega allocates it through boutiques, and demand has held the premium for five years. Blue ceramic bezel, silver dial, calibre 3861, and the caseback animation: start the chronograph and Snoopy in his Command and Service Module travels around the far side of the Moon, while the Earth disc turns once a minute in step with the small seconds. 1,047 sales a year at that price puts it in a category of its own. Available in our Speedmaster collection.

7. Dark Side of the Moon 311.92.44.30.01.001 — the ceramic that started it

Omega Speedmaster Dark Side of the Moon 311.92.44.30.01.001

The 2013 original: a 44.25 mm case, bezel, dial and buckle all in black zirconium oxide ceramic, powered by the automatic calibre 9300 with its distinctive two-register layout. It created an entire sub-family (Grey Side, Black Black, Apollo 8, Pitch Black) and remains the most-traded of them. The 38% discount to retail is substantial, while 372 annual sales still make it the most-traded Dark Side reference in this ranking. In stock.

8. Speedmaster Moonphase 304.30.44.52.01.001 — 49% below list

Omega Speedmaster Moonphase Co-Axial Master Chronometer 304.30.44.52.01.001

Calibre 9904 adds a moon-phase disc with a photorealistic lunar surface and a date hand to the 9300 chronograph architecture, in the same 44.25 mm steel case. At €12,600 list it is one of the most expensive steel Speedmasters; at €6,382 median it is one of the cheapest to actually buy — a 49% discount, the deepest in this ranking. It is one of the clearest examples of how differently the secondary market can value a watch from its manufacturer's list price. In stock.

9. Apollo 11 50th Anniversary 310.20.42.50.01.001 — steel and Moonshine gold, 6,969 pieces

Omega Speedmaster Apollo 11 50th Anniversary 310.20.42.50.01.001

Released in 2019 for the fiftieth anniversary of the Moon landing and limited to 6,969 pieces, this is a steel Moonwatch case with Moonshine gold bezel, crown, pushers and centre links, a calibre 3861, and a dial whose 9 o'clock sub-dial carries a laser-engraved Moonshine gold portrait of Buzz Aldrin descending the lunar module ladder. It is the only limited edition in this ranking still trading below its €11,800 list — but only just, at −5% — and it rose 7.3% in twelve months, the strongest trend of any 42 mm Moonwatch here. Its combination of a fixed 6,969-piece run, Apollo 11 provenance and Moonshine gold details gives it a scarcity profile the regular-production Moonwatch does not have. Annual volume is much lower at 187 sales, although its median price remains only 5% below the original list. In stock.

10. "From the Moon to Mars" 3577.50 (2004) — the planetary dial

Omega Speedmaster From the Moon to Mars 3577.50

A calibre 1861 Moonwatch with the Earth, the Moon and Mars printed on its three sub-dials, released in 2004 to mark Omega's role in NASA's Mars programme. It listed at around €3,500 and now trades at €6,146, a 76% premium, with 156 sales a year — unusually liquid for a twenty-year-old novelty dial. For context, its 2003 stablemate, the first Snoopy Award 3578.51 (5,441 pieces, "Eyes on the Stars"), has gone further still at €13,010 — more than five times its original list — but on 119 sales a year it is thinner and harder to find. The From the Moon to Mars is the collectible Speedmaster you can still buy at a sane number. Available in our Speedmaster collection.

What the numbers say

Looking across the ten references, the most striking result is the role of size. The 39 mm Reduced leads the sales table outright, and the 3570.50 — a standard 42 mm Moonwatch, but one that wears more manageably than its diameter suggests — sits third. Omega's answer arrived only on 25 August 2026, when it refreshed the Speedmaster 38 with seven new references, round sub-dials and Moonwatch-style bracelets; the outgoing 38s in our data were already the fastest-rising Speedmasters of the year (+12% to +22%), so watch this space.

Price tells a different story. Most current-production steel references trade well below retail. The gap has widened partly because Omega's list prices have risen substantially since 2022 while pre-owned Moonwatch prices have stayed comparatively flat, on top of the broader post-2022 normalisation of the secondary market. In practice that leaves a gap of nearly €2,800 between a new hesalite Moonwatch at €7,600 and the secondary-market median of €4,824 — a substantial premium for buying new.

The premiums are more concentrated. Within this top ten they sit in two places, discontinued references and the Snoopy edition, while the ceramic Dark Side of the Moon shows a far larger retail-to-market discount than either.

Frequently asked questions

Which Speedmaster is the best value on the secondary market?

By discount to retail, the Moonphase 304.30.44.52.01.001 at roughly half list. By absolute price for a genuine Moonwatch, the discontinued 3570.50 at under €4,000.

Is the hesalite or sapphire Moonwatch worth more?

The sapphire 310.30.42.50.01.002 trades about €760 higher than the hesalite 310.30.42.50.01.001. Sales volumes are nearly identical, so neither is the "wrong" choice; the market simply prices the crystal at roughly what Omega charges for it.

Why is the Speedmaster Reduced worth more than its original price?

It was discontinued around 2010, and for fifteen years it was the only Moonwatch-look Speedmaster under 40 mm while case sizes trended smaller. Supply is fixed and demand has risen; the 13.4% one-year increase shows how strongly the market has repriced the reference recently. Whether the August 2026 Speedmaster 38 refresh takes some of that demand is the question for next year's data.

Do you offer these references?

Seven of the ten references are represented in our Speedmaster collection, with options starting from €199. The Reduced 3510.50, sapphire 3861 and 3570.50 are not currently listed; the hesalite 3861 is the closest match for the latter two. The full Omega range covers Seamaster, Constellation and De Ville as well.
